Today we had our first introduction to the Handwriting Without Tears program. We learned about our alligator grip, stacking our "blocks", and the names of the wooden blocks that we use to build letters. You will see one of the pictures from the lesson below.
We also went to library for the first time and that was very exciting! We are ready to explore the art room on Wednesday.
Please ask your children what our four rules are at school and how we are practicing them everywhere we go. I hope they can name them all and explain how they are already doing very well with these rules.
Attention Parents and Students: In Science we study the life cycle of a Monarch Butterfly. We are in need of one or two Monarch Caterpillars still. My usual location has not produced one and I'd love for the students to have the opportunity to study the life cycle in the classroom with our very own Butterfly house. If you happen to see one, please send the Monarch Caterpillar to our classroom. If you put it in a jar with some milkweed and some holes in the top of a container, we will do the rest. We will still learn about the life cycle either way. Thank you for everything!
